GP services

Our GP services are raising the bar in patient experience by delivering a service designed to suit today’s busy lifestyles.

We operate six community general practices on behalf of the NHS, offering patients the full range of services they would expect from a local GP, including sexual health, vaccinations, cervical screening, diabetes and asthma clinics, stop smoking advice and blood pressure clinics.

Our approach to general practice is to provide a professional, cost-effective traditional family service. We strive to achieve high standards and excellent outcomes while reducing waiting times and inappropriate visits to hospital A&E departments.

Meeting local needs

Flexibility is vital in order to meet the needs of patients today. All our practices offer extended hours for GP appointments, typically 8am to 8pm seven days a week. We also offer consultations, appointment booking and prescription services over the internet as well as an innovative self-help service.

Our practices serve a rich mix of populations – we work with patients from a diverse social, cultural and ethnic demographic – so we’re able to handle even the most complex of health issues. Patients can also use our walk-in services even if they’re not from the local area or registered with a practice GP.

Innovation in primary care

Practice Assist is our latest, innovative service designed to help practice partners run their surgeries more effectively and efficiently. Practice Assist offers clinical effectiveness and administrative efficiency through a dedicated centralised hub that offers GPs additional flexible capacity and extended opening hours. Practices using our service see waiting times for appointments reduce from weeks to hours.

Providing care – day and night

For those times when GP practices and walk-in centres are closed, our range of out-of-hours services enables commissioners to continue to provide care to local people. We work closely with commissioners to provide locally tailored solutions, from a minor injury unit in High Wycombe to urgent care centres around the country.
