I’m responsible for the management and development of our secondary care services across the UK. Growth, operational delivery and profitability has to be underpinned by a robust clinical model and governance framework which puts the patient at the centre of our business.
I was determined to ‘return to my roots’ and manage a private hospital business. Before all of this though, I initially worked in retail and hospitality as a multi-site operational manager. I moved into healthcare in 2002 and worked in private hospitals for 8 years. Subsequently I worked in instrument decontamination and diagnostic sectors, before spending 12 months working in social care to broaden my understanding and experience of the wider healthcare sector. Having fulfilled a wide range of management roles in healthcare, I have a breadth of experience to draw upon in fulfilling this role.
I’m passionate about delivering great care and service to patients. I want to work in roles where I am able to make a difference in how care is delivered.
I wanted to work for Care UK because I have always admired their position as a partner and outsourced service provider to the NHS. The close links and relationship with the NHS were instrumental in attracting me to join Care UK.
I can often to be found, come rain or shine, trying to fire a twig at a target somewhere in the distance, which means I’m a big fan of archery! I also enjoy reading (usually fantasy or crime novels), cycling and badminton.
