The programme is designed to provide support and guidance to healthcare providers while also giving exposure to successful initiatives that help manage equality, diversity and inclusion in both the workforce and patients.
Jason Riley, human resources director for Secondary Care, said “The award was presented to us as a result of our successful completion of the programme, but in our view it was a reward for all the hard work everyone has put in since the formation of the Health Care Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Steering Group in December 2015.
“Without the work of the group led by Barry Nee, Chief Information Officer, we wouldn’t have met the membership criteria for inclusion on the programme.
“We’re very proud to be the only independent sector provider to be accepted onto the programme.”
