Care UK has recognised its best performing independent healthcare professionals at an annual awards ceremony.
Staff from up and down the UK were recognised for their hard work and dedication in nine separate categories.
The Mid and South Bucks Diagnostic Centre was presented with the Outstanding Service Award for providing a consistently high level of service to patients and business partners, while Rochdale NHS Ophthalmology CATS received the Customer Service Award for improving the ophthalmic minor operation experience of patients.
The Quality Improvement Award was given to Simona Caronia, clinical lead for Endoscopy at St Mary’s NHS Treatment Centre in Portsmouth, whose leadership helped her endoscopy unit to achieve Joint Advisory Group (JAG) accreditation. For raising the profile of Care UK in her local community, Kara Dudley, marketing & communications lead for Barlborough Treatment Centre was presented with the Brand Awareness Award.
The Customer Care Award, which is given to the team or person who has made the most significant impact on improving customer care, was presented to John Sinclair-Thomas, porter at Will Adams Treatment Centre in Kent for his tireless support of elderly patients with cataracts.
For her motivational skills and commitment to providing an excellent standard of service, Zoe Kidd, lead sonographer at Rotherham Diagnostic Centre, received the Good to Great award and Fleur Matthews, a specialist nurse at HMP Wellingborough, won the Personalisation award for the work she has done in treating inmates with Hepatitis C.
Kim Dennis, service manager at Guildhall Walk Health Centre in Portsmouth, winner of the Innovation award, has devised a register to safeguard vulnerable people, helping to ensure those who are most in need receive the care and support they need.
Finally, the Process Improvement Award, given for demonstrating the implementation of new ways of working that have improved the efficiency of patient service, was awarded to Angela Krige, head of pharmacy & clinical materials management at Care UK’s divisional head office in Reading.
