This is a permanent full time role working 37.5 hours per week to work across 7 days a week on rotational basis including weekends and Bank holidays
To ensure the continued quality of care at HMP Leeds, we’re looking for a Pharmacy Checker to come and join our team.
HMP Leeds is a Local Cat B remand prison with an operational capacity of 1,212, located at Gloucester Terrace in the Armley area of Leeds in West Yorkshire.
About the job
As a Pharmacy Checker, you will be responsible for second checking of all controlled drugs under the direct supervision of the Pharmacy Technician. The role will involve making accurate entries into controlled drugs registers. This may in future rotate to other areas within the Pharmacy service.
You'll be required to support and provide a timely and efficient pharmaceutical service to the prison wings. As an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, you'll contribute to the development of and support implementation of medicine management strategy and associated services and projects
You may be required to take on a role of working across multiple Pharmacy Services if and when required.
The job requirements
It goes without saying that you'll be highly organised, have excellent attention to detail and have good communication skills - both verbal and written. Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team would be beneficial, as is experience within a Pharmacy service.
Along with good computer literacy skills, you'll treat patients with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach, which considers the needs of the whole person.
Salary & Benefits
Salary for this role is £16,009.50 per annum.
