We are currently recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant

To provide support to the nursing staff, ensuring a safe and effective clinical service is provided to all users across the outpatients department, this will involve liaising with other multi disciplinary teams, PACU, Theatres, Radiology and the Ward as required.

To participate in the pre-assessment of patients under supervision, undertaking basic tests and investigations and chaperoning.

To provide a patient focused service within the unit, expanding the role appropriately under supervision and guidance of a registered nurse.

To be able to act as a clinic co-ordinator in the absence of the OPD clinic coordinator, and to facilitate efficient and timely patient pathway.

The role has clinical / technical, administrative, educational and personal development responsibilities.

Clinical and Technical
• Works as an effective team member and understands the importance of team working in the delivery of high quality patient care
• Works within the team to maintain high standards of cleanliness as per IC policy in the clinical area and a well-maintained department environment. Assist with non-clinical activities to ensure the smooth running of the department. This will include co-ordinate of the department

Skills & Experience

· HCA or Assistant Practitioner
· Recent experience at NVQ 3
· Ability to maintain and enhance effective working relationships
· Ability to contribute to, monitor and implement changes and improvements to the service
· Uses conflict resolution strategies to achieve a satisfactory settlement.
· Ability to plan, and evaluate own work and develop self to enhance performance of others.
· Ability to work in a team and if necessary independently
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Ability to monitor and control resources
· Excellent time management skills
· Able to meet the needs of the patients
· Is familiar with Health and Safety and Infection prevention & control policies and procedures.
· Computer literate
· Ability to understand the key business issues that affect profitability & growth
