We could give you the opportunity to develop in to a specialist role of your interest and benefit to the service i.e. ANP, BBV, sexual health, CBT, plastering, ILS, ALS, health promotion, phlebotomy, vaccinations, suturing, wound care, RCGP, and long term condition courses.
About the role..
As a Safer Custody Practitioner, you will have an excellent understanding of risk assessments and management strategies. The post holder will liaise with the prison to attend regular MDT meetings to review patient's care and needs, working in accordance to the suicide and self-harm prevention policy. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease
You will also be working as part of a larger multi-disciplinary team, alongside the primary care and mental health teams.
You will hold a professional qualification and have knowledge appropriate to the delivery of care within the Justice system and/or mental health and social care and be looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment. We would ideally like you to be a registered mental health nurse, CBT Therapist, Registered Social worker or Trainee Forensic Psychologist.
Are you new to prison healthcare?
Do not worry... you will be supported and mentored throughout your first 6 months with Care UK by experienced teams of highly skilled nurses and practitioners as well as management.
HMP Pentonville is a 24/7 healthcare facility and therefore, you will be required to work weekdays, nights, weekends and public holidays. At HMP Pentonville there is a large purpose built healthcare centre which has inpatient unit, a day care facility for patients with mental health problems that are managed on the wings. There are also a number of consulting rooms both within the main prison and in the Healthcare Centre.
This salary for this role is up to £38,000 per annum - DOE to work a 37.5 hour week.
