Job Summary

Retired Clinicians Applications

Care UK, along with other independent providers of healthcare services are working with the NHS in a collective effort to combat the crisis posed by COVID-19.

In our collective response to COVID-19 Care UK are urgently seeking applications from recently retired Primary Care Doctors (GPs) and Clinicians to respond to increased demand in calls to our NHS 111 and Out-of-Hours services. We anticipate there will be a need in the weeks to come to also ask for support from retired clinicians who have different experience or a background outside of primary care.

Therefore, should you wish to register your availability and desire to support in such circumstances please follow the apply button on this page to register your interest. We can therefore ensure at such time that we can utilise your clinical experience we can call upon you to do so.

At such a time, importantly the work you will able to undertake with us will be conducting telephone and online triage services, meaning this can be conducted from your own home. Thus, you can be part of this national effort even if you yourself fall into any of the vulnerable categories associated with COVID-19. We will provide any necessary equipment, training and support to aid you in undertaking this task. Our well established and experienced medical and clinical leadership teams will help you deliver safe and efficient care.

The GMC, NMC and the HCPC are implementing pathways for you to gain temporary registration which we will guide you through, should you have de-registered with them within the past 3 years.

You can choose how much time you contribute and will be free to stop working at any time. Your contract will reflect this and will be temporary in nature enabling you to work throughout the national effort, your contract will also reflect standard Care UK terms and conditions, such as annual leave entitlement and working hour protections.

We all have a role to play in this collective effort. Please follow the link to apply on this page, a member of our recruitment team will be in touch shortly to discuss next steps and how you can use your experience to contribute.
