We're looking for a Practice Nurse to join our healthcare department at HMP Brixton, this will mean working inside the prison. HMP Brixton is a local Category C/D resettlement Prison, who recently celebrated its 200th Anniversary.
HMP Brixton provide various prisoner support and primary care services, treatment and consultation held in the healthcare centre. There are several rehabilitation programmes that the patients are on whilst within HMP Brixton.
The salary range for this role is up to £36,000 per annum - dependent on experience.

About the Job
As a Practice Nurse you will work as part of an integrated healthcare team, utilising your clinical expertise, decision making and problem solving skills to provide skilled and evidence based nursing care for patients in the prison. You will work within your scope of practice, in accordance with Care UK and prison service policies and procedures in line with the NMC Code of professional conduct, performance and ethics for nurses and midwives.
You will have experience of Chronic Disease Management and experience of working as practice nurse. You will have experience in the management of long term conditions for example asthma, COPD, Diabetes and Heart Failure. A full job description is attached.
Are you new to prison healthcare?
Do not worry... you will be supported and mentored throughout your first 6 months with Care UK by experienced teams of highly skilled nurses and practitioners as well as management.
The work is interesting and varied and is an opportunity to make a difference to peoples’ lives, enabling them to improve and maintain their health and wellbeing.
This is a permanent role with the hours being 37.5 per week. The salary will be up to £36,000 per annum - DOE.
