Are you looking for some additional working hours or to gain experience working in a different type of setting?
Have you ever thought about working within a prison?
HMP Huntercombe is a Category C prison holding 480 foreign national males that have been identified by the Home Office as meeting the criteria for deportation. It is conveniently located outside Henley-on-Thames and just 30 minutes from Reading or Oxford. HMP Huntercombe is a settled medium sized prison and already has a well-established Primary Care service.
Working as a Bank Staff Nurse offers you flexibility and workplace variety. You would also be assisting the wider permanent team, covering for planned and unplanned absences.
What will you be doing?
As a Bank Staff Nurse (Adult) within our primary care team, the skills you use may be similar to those you need working in Health promotion or A&E, alternatively you may be supporting people managing their mental health or substance misuse issues.
You can expect to be involved in everything from clinical triage to carrying out nurse-led clinics; reviewing patient histories, undertaking relevant examinations and tests, organising any necessary treatment and referring patients to other healthcare professionals when you need to. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease.
The rate of pay is a flat rate of £16.06 - £20 per hour - dependent on experience, working ad-hoc shifts as and when required.
Please note that this role is subject to Care UK Terms & Conditions and offers of a Bank contract are subject to satisfactory receipt of references, enhanced DBS check and prison vetting (arranged locally by site).
At Care UK, we actively promote diversity and equal opportunities.
