To contribute and support delivery of primary care within a secure environment, by providing nursing care, implement clinical care packages, while working unsupervised.
This is a full time permanent role working 37.5 hours per week across 7 days a week on rotational basis including weekends and Bank holidays.

HM Prison Long Lartin is a dispersal prison in the long term and high security estate. It holds up to 621 Category A and Category B male offenders convicted of some of the most dangerous and serious offences in the country. It has the largest segregation unit in Europe. There is an 8 bed inpatient unit which includes a constant watch and end of life cell. The prison is operated by Her Majesty’s Prison Service.
About the job
As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will be involved in the implementation of clinical care packages, phlebotomy and assessment, treatment and the evaluation of patients’ care. You will support and assist patients with the activities of daily living, work with the Pharmacy Team to help them fulfill their daily tasks and you will be encouraged to take the lead on wellbeing promotion clinics.
What do you need?
We are on the lookout for Healthcare Assistants who have experience of working within a Primary Care setting including GP surgeries, hospitals and have proven experience in clinical observations, ideally ECG and Phlebotomy.
You’ll hold a minimum of NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification and must have a willingness to undertake training in Mental Health Awareness, suicide prevention, self-harm and ACCT procedures as well as Health Promotion and screening, as well as NVQ 3 Health and Social care.
Salary and benefits
The salary for this role is up to £22,000 per annum - dependent on experience.
