Are you looking for something different?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work. If you are a qualified paramedic and want a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day in an environment that never stands still, then this is it!

As a healthcare provider, we recognise the fact that prisoners are a socially excluded group with complex healthcare needs that can often be associated with poor outcomes. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history. We are the market leader, providing care to over 30,000 patients in over 40 prisons across the country.

Our core values are; everyone makes a difference, patients are at the heart of everything we do and together we make things better. If you share these values and have transferable skills we want to meet you!

A bit about the role..

We’re looking for an innovative Paramedic, who thrives on a challenge to provide high quality emergency care and minor injury treatment to patients with both primary care and acute care needs in a prison setting - performing procedures such as suturing, IV access, hemorrhage control, wound care and cardiac & CVA intervention. You’ll be playing an active part in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patients care, working as part of a team of primary care nurses within HMP YOI Aylesbury, delivering care to patients both within the healthcare centre and on the Wings/Houseblocks.

With the ability to think on your feet and a flexible attitude, you’ll be a qualified paramedic with current HCPC registration. Capable of demonstrating initiative, you’ll have proven post-registration experience in any of these following clinical areas: Accident & Emergency, Primary Care environments, Minor Injuries / Illness Units.
