I help to make a difference!

Are you collaborative, caring and compassionate?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

As a healthcare provider, we recognise the fact that prisoners are a socially excluded group with complex healthcare needs that can often be associated with poor outcomes. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history.

Care UK is the Health in Justice market leader - 4 years ago we were managing 12 prison healthcare services and in 2020 we're providing healthcare services in over 40 prisons across the country.

What we need from you?

A Pharmacy Technician, or Pharmacy Dispenser at HMP YOI Hollesley Bay will work closely with the existing primary care team, pharmacy team and on site pharmacist in the delivery of a high quality pharmacy service to the prison population.

You can expect to provide medicines management services to assist and support the primary care team to deliver effective clinical intervention and provide pharmacy related information to patients, prison officers and other healthcare professionals ensuring that the level of advice given is appropriate. The role requires the ability to administer medication and manage processes whereby patients are supported to manage their own in-possession medications effectively.

The Pharmacy Technician will also assist with the implementation and development of pharmacy support to all wings in the prison which includes, where appropriate, counselling of patients on the correct use of medication.

In return for your hard work you will…

- Receive an annual salary of up to £22,000 depending on experience
- 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays
- CPD and re-validation support
- Eligible for cycle to work scheme
- Training and clinical development opportunities
- Onsite benefit including access to an onsite gym, free parking and subsidised café/restaurant
