What can we offer you?
As a Pharmacy Operational Manager, you’ll be an integral part of the Pharmacy team forming part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. The post holder will be required to accept certain activities in relation to the day to day operational management of their unit and as such must ensure that they are trained and competent to take on these additional responsibilities.
The post holder may be required to work across sites for multiple Pharmacy Services if and when required.
You’ll receive an annual salary of up to £40,000 FTE - depending on experience; free DBS check, free uniform, free mandatory training, indemnity cover, CPD and re-validation support.
As well as a number of benefits including a company pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time) plus other benefits including cycle to work scheme and clinical development opportunities.
You will be...
Responsible for planning, organisation and delivery of all pharmacy operational services including dispensary services and treatment rooms. Able to provide induction, training, education,supervision and appraisals to Pharmacy operational staff including one to one supervision sessions to Pharmacy staff.
Attend relevant internal and external meetings as required. Assist in leading the team of pharmacy support workers in the day to day provision of pharmacy services. Work with the Pharmacist to ensure the service is represented by staff in a professional manner at all times. Assist with the strategic development of Pharmacy Service in line with the Health Promotion Strategy.
Skills & Experience...
You will have experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team as well as the ability to demonstrate and provide evidence of personal professional development. Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
The successful applicant will have sound patient counselling skills, treating service users with respect and dignity at all times, adopting a culturally sensitive approach, which considers the needs of the whole person. With the ability to recognise own personal/professional limitations, and a general understanding of building constructive relationships with warmth and empathy, using good communication skills.
• NVQ level 3, BTEC or equivalent
• Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
• Relevant post qualifying experience working within a pharmacy environment.
• Evidence of continuing professional development
This is a full time post 37.5 hours per week.
