What will you be doing?
As a Pharmacy Assistant, you will be responsible for general dispensary duties and stock management. This may in future rotate to other areas within Pharmacy by working under supervision as a dispensary team member.
To work as an active member of the Pharmaceutical team to ensure delivery of an integrated, safe, legal, high quality prison pharmaceutical service within the Care UK cluster of prisons based on National (Divisional) policies supported with local standard operating protocols, taking into consideration, at all times, the need to maintain a high level of security.
The post holder will be required to support and provide a timely and efficient pharmaceutical service to the prison wings. The Pharmacy Assistant will be an integral member of the Pharmacy Team, who forms part of the wider cluster of Healthcare Services. You can expect to be involved in everything from dispensing of prescriptions, stock management, patient counselling etc.
The post holder may be required to accept certain activities in relation to the day to day operational management of their unit and as such must ensure that they are trained and competent to take on these additional responsibilities. The Pharmacy Assistant may be required to take on a role of working across multiple Pharmacy Services if and when required.
What will you need to do this job?
The successful candidate will have relevant post qualifying experience working within a pharmacy environment within the primary care sector. We are ideally looking for someone who is looking to undertake NVQ Pharmacy Services Level 2 optional units relevant to practice area.
Salary and Benefits
Salary for this role is up to £18,000 per annum depending on the experience.
