Bank yourself a Bank role..

We are looking for a bank pharmacist to build some capacity into our pharmacy team in HMP Isle of Wight.

The Prison Pharmacy provides a range of pharmaceutical services to the prisoners, including dispensing and provision of advice. We are a forward-thinking service, utilising technology to automate dispensing and supply of medicines to patients. This position offers the opportunity for career development, for example undertaking the independent prescribing or practice pharmacist qualification. No weekend or bank holiday work is required.

What to expect...

HMP IOW Healthcare Services consist of: a Pharmacy Service; a Mental Health Service and two Primary Healthcare Centres providing care in acute and chronic illness. There is also an Inpatient Healthcare Unit providing care to prisoners with mental health, physical health or substance use need.

You will be a qualified Registered Pharmacist- BSc or Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, holding registration with the general Pharmaceutical Council. You will have a real passion for developing your own Pharmaceutical skills and those of your team. You’ll have a flexible approach working within a team that encourages new ideas.

If you are self-motivated and able to work autonomously as well as showing plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations, then this could be the right role for you!

Experience of working in a secure environment would be beneficial but not essential.

Interested in clinical development?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

As a healthcare provider, we recognise the fact that prisoners are a socially excluded group with complex healthcare needs that can often be associated with poor outcomes. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history.

Care UK is the Health in Justice market leader - 2 years ago we were managing 12 prison healthcare services and in 2019 we're providing healthcare services in over 40 prisons across the country.

We can offer training and development in our friendly and supportive teams as well as full-time, part-time and bank opportunities and a range of other employee benefits.

In return for your hard work...

If you are looking for a challenging work environment and the opportunity to join our award winning services as they further develop, then do please get in touch.

Pay will be £27 per hour.

Please note that offers of employment are subject to Care UK Terms & Conditions and receipt of satisfactory references, an enhanced DBS check and prison vetting.
