Patients are at the heart of what we do.
We are a compassionate and collaborative clinical team based at Southampton Urgent Treatment Centre, within Royal South Hants Hospital. We are currently sourcing for full and part time healthcare support worker to join our team in a busy, unique and rewarding environment.
At Royal South Hants Urgent Treatment Centre we provide fast, convenient and expert care for any NHS patient with a minor injury. Our team of skilled nurses and paramedic practitioners can offer treatment, advice and information for a range of minor injuries. Our waiting times can be considerably less than emergency departments and if we are unable to help, we can refer or direct the patient to the most appropriate service.
Our unfaltering dedication to quality is something we are very proud of; we constantly strive to do things better for our patients. This ethos has led to innovative, evidence based developments to our procedures and ongoing improvements to the patient experience.
Who are we looking for?
The post-holder should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Have the ability to work as part of a team but manage their own work load according to the requirements of busy Department. They need to have previous experience within the care field.
 
The position requires flexibility and the ability to work over a 7 day rota covering the opening hours of the UTC 7.30am – 10pm.
The role involves supporting the Multi disciplinary team in the UTC, which includes Nurses, Paramedics and General Practitioners, with a wide range of patient care tasks. From taking observations, to wound care and wound closure, to plastering of fractures. The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to undertake basic nursing duties, with the view to develop to a more advanced level.
Full Time post holders will be required to work 37.5 hours per week.
