HMP Wormwood Scrubs is a Category B men's prison, located in the Wormwood Scrubs area of the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. Locate within 10 minute walk from East Acton tube station and within 20 minutes walk from White City tube station.
What do we need from you so you can do the job?
As a Substance Misuse Nurse you'll be working on either the Connibere Unit, the specialised 54 bed Substance Misuse unit, or the drug recovery wing and will be involved in everything from clinical triage, administering medication and specialist clinics, to the evaluation and development of patient care and partnership working with our in-house psychosocial team. You will carry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and confidently communicate the full range of treatment options available to patients. You will have an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person centred approach. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease
You will be a Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment.
Are you new to prison healthcare?
Do not worry... you will be supported and mentored throughout your first 6 months and beyond with Care UK by experienced teams of highly skilled nurses and practitioners as well as management.

The recruiter will submit your CV to the hiring manager and in turn Isabelle will arrange an interview for you to attend at HMP Wormwood Scrubs if the hiring manager feels that you are suitable for the job.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week. Part-time applications are also welcome. Applications from newly qualified nurses will be considered, those with a limited amount of experience but are willing to learn will also be considered. We are looking for those that wish to expand their knowledge and skills within such a specialist area.
