About HMP YOI Drake Hall
This role is available at our HMP YOI Drake Hall site, Eccleshall, which is both a Young Offenders Institute (18–21 years) and Adult female prison with a diverse range of nursing needs. Drake Hall currently holds a maximum of 340 sentenced prisoners. This brings a great opportunity to embrace change and embed culture. The role will be an experience like no other, requiring diverse and mixed nursing skills and background.
To enhance the service delivery at HMP YOI Drake Hall, we’re looking for an experienced nurse considering the next step in their career or an existing Senior Nurse / Team Leader to join our management team
Interested in clinical development?
We recognise training and development is essential, therefore we have a regional training centre, located within the HMP Oakwood/Featherstone and Brinsford cluster to facilitate training needs. You will gain insight and training in Mental Health and Substance Misuse.
We could give you the opportunity to develop in to a specialist role of your interest and benefit to the service i.e. ANP, NMP,BBV, sexual health, Womens health , health promotion, phlebotomy, vaccinations, wound care, RCGP, and long term condition courses.
If you are new to offender health, we will create a suitable induction package to ensure you are equipped for this exciting role

Receive an annual salary of up to £36,500 depending on experience. You'll also get a number of benefits including a company contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave plus 8 public bank holidays plus CPD and re-validation support.

What do we need from you so you can do the job?
As a Registered Nurse you’ll be an integral part of the healthcare team by bringing your clinical skills and passion for care. With plenty of primary care experience, you could be involved in anything from developing and leading clinics, undertaking examinations and tests as well as answering emergency calls and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency.
If you have a passion for bringing new ideas to the table then we’re here to listen on how we can improve and continue to develop our healthcare service within the prison environment.
It goes without saying that you’ll have a solid understanding of health and safety, along with exemplary record keeping skills. Self-motivated and able to work autonomously, you’ll show plenty of initiative when it comes to handling a wide range of situations.
You will be an integral part of our management team ensuring we are driving the service forward using innovation and best practice ensuring our patients are at the heart of everything we do.
This is a full time, permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota basis across 7 days.
Working Hours Mon- Fri 0715 -1830, Sat and Sun 0715 – 1700.
Salary for this role is £32,500 -£36,500 per annum (dependent on experience) with company benefits and schemes.
