HMP Sudbury is a Cat D prison, holding approximately 560 prisoners, from the age of 18 upwards.

The healthcare departments operates like a primary care centre within the community, running a range of clinics and supporting many visiting professionals such as physiotherapist, podiatrist etc.

Shifts for Nurses:
• Monday 0730 - 2000
• Tuesday, Wednesday Friday 0730 - 1730
• Thursday 0730 - 2000
• Saturday and Sunday 0730 – 1700 (working alternate weekends)

Care UK have been managing the healthcare contract at HMP Sudbury since 1st April 2016.

To ensure the continued quality of care at HMP Sudbury, we're looking for a Senior Nurse to come and join the team to provide the day to day clinical management of the department, ensure clinical standards and supervision of junior staff within the healthcare unit.

Responsible To

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Nurse you will work as part of the nursing team, utilising your clinical expertise, decision making and problem solving skills to provide skilled and evidence based nursing care for patients in the prison. You'll be responsible for the continuing management of patients and acute and long term medical conditions, including assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, health promotion actively and care of vulnerable offenders.

Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role you will be a Level 1 Registered Nurse (General/Adult) and hold a current NMC registration and have evidence of continued professional development post registration.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours per week. The salary for this role is £33,000.
