Break into prison healthcare!
Are you looking for a new challenge in an environment where no two days are the same? Are you looking to work for a company that offers support and development opportunities? If so, then this could be the role for you!
HMP Moorland is a Category C men's prison and Young Offenders Institution, near Hatfield Woodhouse in Doncaster, South Yorkshire.
Care UK were recently awarded the healthcare contract at HMP YOI Moorland and will take over on 1st September 2017; we are the Health in Justice Market leader, providing healthcare services to offenders across the country. Our model of care is our Wellbeing Approach – an integrated, comprehensive approach in recognition of the fact prisoners are a socially-excluded group with healthcare needs which are complex and often associated with poor outcomes. It adopts the premise no single health/wellbeing factor can be taken in isolation of other motivational issues which might impact a person’s care.
To ensure the continued quality of care at HMP YOI Moorland, we’re looking for Bank Pharmacy Technicians to support us and the existing team in this new venture.
About the Job
As a Bank Staff Nurse, the skills you use may be similar to those you need working in Health promotion or A&E, alternatively you may be supporting people managing their mental health or substance misuse issues.
You’ll carry out – and potentially develop – nurse-led clinics, reviewing patient histories, undertaking relevant examinations and tests, organising any necessary treatment and referring patients to other healthcare professionals when you need to. Across everything you do, you’ll maintain accurate records and provide the kind of helpful, empathetic support that will make every patient feel at ease.
Every day will bring new challenges and new experiences. But at the same time, you’ll have all the support you need to deliver the best care possible.
The Job Requirements
You will be a Registered Nurse (RGN) looking to develop your current skills in a unique and ever changing environment. You will have a passion for learning and development, as well as having the initiative to bring new ideas and opinions on how to improve the healthcare services.
Prison Healthcare experience is not essential although we do ask that you have experience within primary care.
