I help to make a difference!

Are you collaborative, caring and compassionate?

Prisons are one of the most challenging, yet rewarding places for healthcare professionals to work - if you’re looking for a role where you can develop your existing skills and learn something new every day, then this is the place to be.

As a healthcare provider, we recognise the fact that prisoners are a socially excluded group with complex healthcare needs that can often be associated with poor outcomes. We believe in putting the patient first, regardless of the environment or their history.

Care UK is the Health in Justice market leader - 2 years ago we were managing 12 prison healthcare services and in 2018 we're providing healthcare services in over 40 prisons across the country.

Looking for something a little different?

We're looking for Bank Nurses to support our multi-disciplinary healthcare team at HMP Wormwood Scrubs. This will mean working inside the prison within healthcare and on the prison wings. HMP Wormwood Scrubs is an adult male prison, 0.5 miles from East Acton station.

About the job

As a Bank Staff Nurse you will be an integral part of the healthcare team and will be involved in everything from clinical triage to the evaluation of patient care and standards. You’ll carry out nurse led clinics, reviewing patient’s histories, undertaking relevant examinations and tests, organising any necessary treatment and referring patients to other healthcare professionals when you need to.

One of our nurses at HMP Huntercombe says about the role “The bars and the doors are irrelevant, it’s about maintaining those professional boundaries like you would in any post you are working in within healthcare.”

About You

You will be a Registered Nurse (RGN) looking to share your nursing skills and experience with our dedicated team in a unique and ever changing environment.

Prison Healthcare experience is not essential.
