Care UK is building on its extensive experience in Primary Care. We are currently delivering and making plans to grow our new model of care for general practice; Practice Plus. Working with a leading Pharmacy Partner, the model aims to provide an enhanced general practice service to NHS patients through the use of technology, remote care and local clinical services delivered from our Pharmacy Partner sites. This new way of delivering general practice services in the UK will utilise Care UK’s extensive clinical contact centre capability as well as optimising patient experience and service quality through use of a comprehensive online capability.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the healthcare systems across the Practice Plus service, in order to implement best practice and a standardised approach. Excellent change management and communication skills and the ability to build relations with key stakeholders is essential. Applicants must have excellent knowledge and experience of using EMIS web within a GP /APMS practice.
You will have a passion for innovation and a can do attitude to creating new ideas for the development of our systems.
The post holder will work in an environment of continuous change whilst minimising disruption to system users.
This role is home based and will include travel across our Practice Plus sites (London, Brighton & Dudley)
About the Job
As Clinical Systems Specialist you will lead on a review of the use of the EMIS patient management system across existing sites in order to implement best practice and a standardised approach. Work with the operational and clinical teams to implement improved patient pathways through the use of systems and Contribute to the development of reports, templates and other mechanisms to improve QOF performance.
You will work with Clinical Leads to support the management of patients with long terms conditions or complex health needs through the use of template, protocols etc.
Be responsible for running searches, audits and data manipulation from the EMIS clinical system as required as well as overseeing overall data quality.
Act as a super user and trainer for key service systems including EMIS, and other digital healthcare systems, delivering training when required and build strong working relationships with the internal users of the systems as well as the system providers.
What we need from you?
• Primary Care experience
• IT experience and evidence of continuing professional development within IT
• Experience in a large/ multi-site NHS GP Practice environment, using EMIS
• Knowledge and understanding of QOF and similar clinical requirements
• Fully conversant with all Microsoft office products.
• Delivering systems training as a Super User
• The ability to build relations with key internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to analyse complex data, diagnose problems, identify solutions and undertake benefits analysis
• Ability to be flexible with regard to working hours
• Travel across Care UK sites
