Job Summary

Care UK Healthcare has a Part-Time Consultant Anaesthetist vacancy at our Peninsula NHS Treatment Centre in Plymouth.

The post holder will be required to perform a range of anaesthetic procedures, on patients referred to the treatment centre, working in accordance with hospital protocols and working practices. The post holder will also be required to have completed a substantial number of procedures identified above independently. Applicants will be expected to have an excellent clinical quality record and be able to demonstrate the ability to perform efficiently in theatre.

The treatment centre has grown this year with the addition of a brand new, clean air operating theatre and an endoscopy suite. In addition, we have a pioneering new partnership with the local NHS Trust to undertake all elective orthopaedic surgery. This increase in capacity and activity has created a need to recruit an additional Consultant Anaesthetist; the successful applicant will be joining a dedicated and professional multi-disciplinary medical healthcare team.

Shift Pattern - Part time basis for 24 hours per week.

With an excellent reputation and one of the leading providers of NHS elective healthcare in the UK, the Peninsula Treatment Centre is a modern independent hospital run by Care UK. The treatment centre has been delivering high quality care to NHS patients across Devon and Cornwall for 12 years and has recently been awarded “outstanding” by the CQC, the first independent hospital to receive this recommendation.

There is a generous relocation package if needed.

In return we can offer:
• A competitive base salary dependent on experience, contributory pension scheme, 25 days annual leave per annum plus Bank Holidays
• Full CSNT indemnity cover and 10 days CPD with generous financial contribution
• Clinical Development and Training Opportunities. We could even give you the opportunity to develop into a specialist role of your interest
• Care UK Perks including Childcare Vouchers, Cycle to Work Scheme and retail discounts

If you’re seeking an opportunity for improved work life balance, reduction in on-call commitments whilst still committing to deliver excellent patient care, all within touching distance of the coast and Dartmoor National Park, then please do get in touch.
