HMP Dovegate is a male Category ‘B’ training prison located near Uttoxeter in Staffordshire, holding remand and long-term prisoners. It has three house blocks and special wings for vulnerable prisoners, IDTS and remand prisoners. It has an operational capacity of 1060.
Our prison GPs are extremely valued and well respected members of the Offender Health community. Delivering first class healthcare to a group with such a wide variety of patients, GPs at Care UK get the opportunity to further develop their knowledge in areas they that wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
What will you be doing?
As a member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team, the General Practitioner will provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management. You will also provide a highly specialist resource to other healthcare staff, patients and carers and have active involvement in clinical governance/effectiveness activities.
This role will include some evening and weekend work.
The Job Requirements
MBChB or MBBS qualified, you’ll be registered with the GMC and on a PCT Medical Performers List. RCGP1 part 1 is desirable.
Salary and benefits
The salary for this role is up to £96,900 per annum (pro rata for part time applications)
