What we require from you;

Commitment to working a minimum of 12 hours every weekend, both Saturdays and Sundays including Bank holidays.
Strong communication skills with an empathetic manner.
Can commit to either a full time or part time training course (as detailed below).

A bit about the role;

We are recruiting for experienced Call Handlers to join our busy 111 call centre in Dudley working part time (minimum of 12 hours) every weekend, both Saturdays and Sundays. We also have some evening shifts available additionally to working weekends if you’re looking for a few more hours (up to 24 hours).

As a 111 Call Handler you will be answering inbound calls from members of the public within a defined timeframe using NHS Pathways software where you help advise the patient’s to the appreciate service. The patient may need to speak with a Clinical Advisor. You may need to arrange for an ambulance to be dispatched if it’s an emergency or provide information about available services.

You will follow the NHS Pathways license requirements and comply with all policies and regulations relating to clinical governance and patient confidentiality.

Full Training is provided, our courses are either full time lasting 4 weeks Monday to Friday 9.00 am – 5.00 pm or part time lasting 5 weeks, Saturdays and Sundays 9.00 am – 5.00 pm and Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 6.00 pm – 9.30 pm.

You will need to complete full NHS Pathways and system training to equip you for the role and you will be supported by Supervisors and Clinical Advisors.

Pay rates;
£8.55 per hour during training.

Up to £10.00 per hour depending on shift.
(After successfully completing your training you will move onto a rate between £8.76ph - £10.00ph depending on the shift. Shifts will be between the hours of 07:00-22:59)

We also offer an increased rate of £12 per hour for any actual hours worked during our busiest periods (Fridays 18:00-23:00, Saturdays 07:00-23:00 and Sundays 07:00-23:00) subject to terms and conditions.

NHS 111 is a 24/7 service operating 365 days a year which is non-emergency telephone service providing patients advice to the most appropriate urgent care service they require.
